James is Senior Lecturer at the University of Strathclyde, and Transport Co-Lead of the UK FCDO-funded Climate Compatible Growth programme. His research focuses on sustainable transport transitions particularly in low- and middle-income countries. A chartered engineer, he has also worked in Scottish and UK government, and the aerospace industry.
