Jean Rom Rabe

Jean Rom Rabe is Professor of Marine Engineering at the Institute of Maritime Studies, Plant Engineering and Logistics at Wismar University of Applied Sciences, Germany. With a strong professional background in the maritime shipping sector, he worked as a scientific research fellow at the Chair of Piston Engines and Internal Combustion Engines at the (University Rostock), where he did a doctorate on combustion control in heavy fuel diesel engines. He held a professorship in shipbuilding engineering and operations at the University of Applied Sciences in Flensburg. Since 2020, he leads the research on technologies and innovation in the shipping sector at the University of Wismar.
