Suzanne is Dow’s Global Procurement Sustainability and Advocacy Leader, part of the Strategy Planning & Governance team based in the new Dow Procurement Hub in Horgen, Switzerland. She leads the implementation of Dow’s Sustainable Procurement strategy and multigenerational goals, in alignment with Dow’s Global sustainability targets and in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Moreover, she leads procurement sustainability projects like supplier ESG data collection and assessment, scope 3 climate target development, supplier ESG programs, carbon offset and inset strategy development, and strategic planning for policy compliance – all with the goal of accelerating the transition to a sustainable planet and society.
Suzanne has spent her career working to quantify and reduce environmental impacts, starting out as an ecologist restoring rivers and wetlands, and over the past decade, advancing innovative research on low carbon, circular supply chains at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Suzanne co-founded the MIT Sustainable Supply Chains Lab, co-authored the Global Logistics Emissions Council Framework, a leading carbon accounting method becoming an ISO standard, co-founded the Coalition on Materials Emissions Transparency, and is a member of the Science-Based Targets initiative Technical Advisory Group. A Boston native based in Switzerland, Suzanne received a Master of Science from the University of Zürich and a Bachelor of Science from the University of New Hampshire.
