Time to Be Accountable: Showcasing Achievements, Driving Transformation

On Thursday, 25 September 2025, the Symposium of Transport and Climate Change Week 2025 opens the week to a wider audience.

The German and global transport community is then invited to join the debate with 100 practitioners from more than 20 countries – who will be in Berlin for the complete week. Discuss together how to achieve net-zero climate goals in the transport sector. This is an in-person event only, no online-streaming is available!

A decade has passed since the signing of the Paris Agreement. Trying to set a clear and measurable and call for action  to the next decade we organize a Symposium as the summit of every Transport Week, a day where we open the Conference to a broader audience to blink into the future. By facilitating dialogue between our delegates, experts and decision makers, we address challenges as opportunities to keep momentum in our path of transforming transport systems.

This year, on Thursday 25 September, we have planned a Symposium to look to the future, making ourselves accountable for the need to have bold transport targets for 2035, keeping approaches top-down for policy making. As a contrast, from the bottom-up approach, linkages between transport planning and clean energy strategies are focusing on optimizing multisectoral efforts. By including the private sector in the ecosystem, we expect to have a holistic understanding of how we can unite efforts to promote a sustainable, just transition considering value chain and automotive industry. Bringing space for our partner countries we will have innovation on maritime with the case of Marshal Island and the Asia perspective, considering lessons learned from China. After lunch we will invite our external partner to organise side events to develop multisectoral strategies for speeding up transformation.
