Time to Be Accountable: Showcasing Achievements, Driving Transformation

On Thursday, 25 September 2025, the Symposium of Transport and Climate Change Week 2025 opens the week to a wider audience.

To establish a clear and measurable call to action for the next decade, we will be hosting a special Symposium – the capstone to the Transport and Climate Change Week. The symposium will take an all-important look to the future. It will also open up the conference to a broader audience, facilitating dialogue between our delegates, experts and decision makers. By embracing challenges as opportunities, we aim to sustain the movement to transform transport systems.

Our aspirations over the coming decade will be the focus of the Symposium on Thursday, 25 September. We will highlight the importance of having transport targets for 2035 to which we will be accountable. We will also reflect on the importance of strong leadership for effective action, particularly when it comes to multisectoral initiatives. By opening the discussion to actors from the private sector, we hope to obtain a holistic picture of how we can link forces to promote a sustainable, just transition that encompasses automotive value chains. We will additionally provide a platform to our partner countries: Symposium participants will learn about maritime innovation in the Marshall Islands and be treated to an Asian perspective on lessons learned from transformation. After lunch, our external partners will host side events dedicated to the development of multisectoral strategies for accelerating transformation.
