Transport and Climate Change Week’s motto this year is “Partnering for Action: Global Alliances and Opportunities for Decarbonising Transport“, and art is one of those alliances.
Transport shapes how we move, how we meet and how we live; it connects communities and divides them, carrying opportunity and inequality in equal measure. And yet, how often do we see it through the eyes of those who experience it every day?
Art does what data alone cannot: it makes the human experience of transport visible, the daily commute, the road not taken, the city that was never built for you. Artists have always been essential witnesses to the world we live in. This year, Transport and Climate Change Week opens its stage to all of them: photographers, filmmakers, painters, poets, musicians, writers, performers and makers of all kinds.
What we’re looking for:
We welcome all forms of art that can be shared in a digital format. If your work speaks to transport, mobility, climate, movement, or the human experience of getting from one place to another, it belongs here.
Some questions to inspire you:
- What does transport look like where you live?
- Who does your city’s mobility system serve and who does it leave behind?
- What would a just, sustainable transport future feel like?
- What journeys have shaped you?
